Bathroom vanity...

Before

Well, I'm not quite done with this project but I thought I'd post a little teaser. This is my guest bathroom. I want to refinish my kitchen cabinets and thought I'd try it out in my bathroom first so I don't mess up all my cabinets. I like them so far, I just need to get some more knobs and finish painting the walls. I only have from about 7:30 pm till I pass out at 11pm to work on projects like this so the babies won't get in the way. Because if I can't figure out how to get into a gallon of paint, my two year old will in record time.

I'm BAAAAAACK

Sorry for the absence, turns out you can't work on very many projects when you just had a c-section. I tried, but my family threatened to take away my birthday if I even got off the couch.

I actually did two projects last Saturday. My mom came down to help me clean out my garage and I built a little shelf for above my tv. If you don't park in the shade in Arizona during the summer, you risk burning your own fingerprints off on the steering wheel. And don't get me started on belt buckles the same temperature as lava. So now I can park in my garage. Thanks mom. And Tom for installing my garage door opener.

And this is the shelf. I wanted it to look more like an entertainment center instead of just a table. I used two big corbels painted black, attached it to a 1x8 and used L brackets to fasten it to the wall. I used one of my old black shutters for some visual interest and stuck 9 old canning jars with candles in them on the shelf.

Three chandeliers

How horrible of a wife am I that I had my husband do "honey do's" the day he got back from Iraq? I'm pretty savvy when it comes to home improvements but one thing I'll leave to the professionals is electrical stuff. I don't want to shock this kid out a week before I'm supposed to have him. I knew it would take him less than five minutes total so I strategically placed them on the ground right inside the door and acted surprised when I walked in. He sure loves me :)

Tara's rubbing off on me.

Tara is the queen at not taking before pictures. She has been with me for the last week and a half or so and now she's rubbing off on me. Anyways, here is the old mirror I used to have in my master bathroom.

And this is one of my mothers day mirrors.

Media console

I set up my new media center and I really like it. I was worried about it being too high but I'm happy to report that it was at the perfect height to watch the suns kick the pants off of San Antonio. Yay!!!

This is probably the only sports reference that will ever be on this blog.

The floor lamp in the corner was one I got for Mothers Day too. I painted the base and stained it and stripped all the fabric off the lamp shade to nak-ify it. I love naked lamp shades too.

Mothers Day loot

My husband called me from Iraq (where, by the way, he is leaving on Monday to come home for leave Yay!) and he said "Uh... you should probably buy yourself a mothers day present from me. Even if I sent it now, it wouldn't get there in a very timely manner. And this way, I bet you'll like it!".
So feeling very deserving of a shopping spree as I'm about to be a mother for the fourth time, I headed over to a great lady's house who lives in Camp Verde. She has acres of junk just sitting in the rain getting ruined. Which means I got mothers day presents (plural) for the price of one present!
Anywho, here are some pictures I snapped on my iphone. It's not even all of it. I also got a dresser, a lamp and another giant antique mirror for my bathroom that were in my sisters car.

So, I scored 3 chandeliers, two antique mirrors, two wood picture frames, a window that matches one I already had in my bathroom, a black media cabinet, a dresser, and a floor lamp!
Thanks Caleb, I love my Mothers Day present(s)!
